Kyle Carr signs contract with Minnesota TwinsCarr was drafted for the second time by Major League Baseballs Minnesota Twins on June 6. He was first drafted by the Twins in the 31st round in 2005 shortly after graduating high school, but he decided to play baseball for the University of Minnesota, and was not eligible for the draft until this year. This time, Carr was drafted in the 12th round by the Twins, and he had until August 15 to decide if he would sign with the team, or return for his senior season with the Gophers. Carr did not need nearly that long to make the decision, as he signed with the Twins on June 24. Carr signed a 7-year contract, but details of the contract were not disclosed. After signing the contract, Carr went to Fort Myers, Fla., where Twins officials evaluated his knee, which he had arthroscopic surgery on about a month ago. He then headed to the Twins advanced Rookie League Affiliate in Elizabethton, Tennessee. Kyle is a 2005 graduate of Linton High School, and he is the son of Dan and Anne Carr of Linton. |
